Qlik Sense 2.0.2 Export Failed, Internal Engine Error

Qlik Sense Desktop. Clean install of 2.0.2 Mac Parallels v10 Windows 7 x64. Sense Installs and Runs fine. New feature export to pdf works. Export Data returns error: Export Failed, Internal Engine Error.  I have uninstalled, cleaned all folders for Qlik Sense. .Net 4.5.2 updated, re-installed from the c:\   same error. Tried with 2.0.1 same error. Any suggestions would be great. BTW v1.x ran fine.

Hi Jim,

I have a similar environment, albeit with Fusion 7 rather than Parallels and the export works okay in 2.0.2.

I do have Excel installed in the image so not sure if that is a prerequisite to make it work.

It may also be a permissions issue as the export tries to create a file in your %userdata%\documents\qlik\sense\exports folder.

Hope this helps.

Hi Rod,

Thanks. Yes Excel is installed in the image. The permissions look OK, Admin, System and i all have full permissions. I'll poke at it some more tonight and try to figure out what I did wrong. Appreciate your response.

Hi Rod,

Interestingly one of the Qlik directories was corrupt and there was bad permissions set in the host disk. Fixed all of that and still get the error.

Hi Jim,

If it were me I would try an uninstall / reinstall rather than the upgrade.  Before you do this I would also recommend backing up at least the app, extension and content (custom images) directories under your my documents\qlik\sense\ folder then deleting these directories for a clean installation.

It may also be worth re-confirming that .Net is installed correctly by performing a repair.

I hope this helps.

Hi Karl,

I have to confess that I just gave up, when I demonstrate Qlik Sense to a customer or prospect I just talk about the capability and move on without showing the functionality, maybe it will work in the next release.  I tried everything I could think off short of throwing out this computer and getting a new one.
