QS no action button meaning set analysis is not sutiable right ?

Hi All

when i start design QV i use YTD Flag , later i learn SET analysis because it is more flexible . Now when i start using QS , and it does not provide the Action button for intial selection , does it mean that in QS envirnment i should use Flag instead of SET analysis.

Stay tuned, with Qlik Sense 2.1 I will publish a visualization extension which basically does what you are asking for.

Hi Paul,

In QS you can't assign actions to object, neither set up triggers for initial field selection. So, for initial selection, you can select value/values within that field and make sure they are selected when you save/close your QS document. In my case, I had an app that showed two filters with selections locked when opening it up.

Set analysis expressions, on the other hand, are not really meant for initial field selection. It is more about aggregation over a group of information independent of your current selections.

try using this extension from Qlik Branch Paul.

qsVariable

You can create buttons/toggles/drop downs and set variable values using it in Qlik Sense.
