Testing environment in Qlik Sense server

Dear Community,

I would like to setup a testing environment in Qlik Sense Server to test the new/latest version, so I install a RIM node to do that.

Assumed that there are a Central node and a RIM node installed in different servers.

There are several questions about that.

-Can the Qlik Sense Server version in the RIM node be different with the version in Central node? so that i can test the new version in RIM node.

-Can the Central node and RIM node be under different domain?

-Are there 2 QMC and 2 Hub if I have a Central node and a RIM node?

If yes, can users under RIM node’s user directory access to central node hub, or just depending on the rules setting?

Thanks.

Eddie, I can answer a couple of your questions.

1. You should only run the exact same version of nodes within a Sense site.  The server communication API may change between versions and you could end up with a corrupted node if they are different.

2. Within a site (a collection of nodes), there should only be one QMC.  There can be as many hubs as you want and you can configure access to those hubs.

For testing/upgrade purposes I would set up a separate TEST site with its own set of nodes and separate QMC.

maybe it's a bug but I have a server management console is available on all cluster nodes.

Hi Gary,

What are the pros and cons for multi node site?

Im adding another server that should be the prod and the current one should be the dev, what is the best solution?
