Vertical reference line

Hi all,

I was wondering if it is possible to make a vertical reference line instead of a horizontal reference line in Qlik Sense (a line that refers to the x-axis instead of y-axis". The specific example is that i want to make a vertical reference line at average(Weight per unit).

Thanks in advance!

Nicolai,

Even if you activate Grid in the chart properties, that will be helpful.

share a sample qvw and let me know your desired results

To do this in QV, you have to convert the x-axis to "continuous". I am not sure if you can do this at all in QS.

It all depends which chart object you are using. For example, the Scatterplot object allows for both X and Y-axis reference lines.

With a typical Bar chart (one containing a single metric), for example, that contains Product across the X-Axis, and Weight as the Y-Axis measure, it would make sense to have a Y-Axis reference line for Average Weight. But what would you want to display as the X-Axis reference line?

I Want to display Weight per packing unit on the X-axis and Sum(Packing_Units) on the y-axis so that I get some kind of density function, see below.

I would be nice if I could have a vertical reference line, that displays the average weight per packing unit.

hi

assuming that the average is one of your axis x values

then you might use combo chart with the same expression for line and

another expression that will create a bar on the avg value
