Nprinting- Catastrophic faliure

Hi,

When I'm creating Nprinting reports I run into the following failure - 'Catastrophic failure'. I already saw a discussion on this topic here in the community but the solution didn't work out for me(CATASTROPHIC FAILURE IN NPrinting) I'm unable to create any report due to this error.

Can someone help me on this?

At what specific point are you encountering the error

-when trying to create a connection

-trying to open/edit a template

-previewing the report

-running a task

is this a report you are building yourself or is it something from the Nprinting training environment

Hi Adam,

Thank you for replying. I'm encountering this problem when I'm trying to create a new template in reports. Whatever report may it be, as soon as I try and create a new template this error pops up.

Hi Arjun,

Since the solution given in the thread you linked to did not work for you (and if you are not using Personal Edition of QlikView as in that case), I suggest you take the advice given there and create a case with Qlik Support. That way a support engineer will be able to systematically troubleshoot the issue and hopefully provide a quick solution.

Hi Arjun,

There are couple of bugs in NPrinting which have been fixed in recent releases, are reasons to cause ‘Catastrophic Failure’ error:

       1. Deleting a QlikView object used in a report causes an error message "Catastrophic failure." And "Value cannot be           null. Parameter name: path" during report generation.

       2.Generating an NPrinting report which containing a QlikView chart with a Calculation Condition will result in the            ‘Catastrophic Failure’ error.

Hi everyone,

I am experiencing the same issue when trying to connect to a source. The problem is the source has always worked fine and suddenly this problem ocurred - although nothing has changed in the Qlikview file or the path.

Is there a solution for this now? Or I should create a case with the Qlik Support?

Hi we have the same issue but this is present when after edit my template and trying to SAVE or SAVE AND CLOSE the error appears.
