Hi all,
I followed this thread to create a pivot table: How to Create a Pivot Table from Excel Table Columns – Customer Feedback for Vizubi
The strange thing is if I deselect 'Keep source format', data in my pivot table is not complete which only shows data of 1 State instead of all states. If I select 'keep source format', the data is complete.
In order to keep data complete, I deselected it and tried to format cells in Template Editor using Excel conditional formatting.
When I previewed, the cells were highlighted as I want.
But if I collapse any rows, the formatting was gone even after I saved the report!!!!
Is there anyone met the problem?
Hi Grace,
The article is clear that you must :
1. not check the Keep Source Formats check box
2. use a QlikView Straight Table as the source for the NPrinting PivotTable
You cannot simply make changes in Excel PivotTable formatting as they do not persist. This has nothing to do with NPrinting but is an Excel “feature”. The way to format PivotTables is to use one of the in-built PivotTable styles. Or create your own. Here is a video.

You will need to make a copy of your Pivot table as a straight table in QlikView and then bring the straight table into NPrinting. Once the straight table is brought into NPrinting, you then want to convert it to a pivot table within the tempalte. You have the correct thread and articel but it sounds like you brought the pivot table into the tempalte instead of the straight table
If you have brought it in as a stright table, please make sure you ahve all of the data in the format you want (check Keep Source formats). I find it is best to step through the process and check werhe you are - the process can be tedious and it is easy to make a mistake. The few times I ahve done this, it took more than one try.
You can also use the tutoria that has been attached and use the training nprinting environment (which you can download) - the training environment contains the application and objects referred to in the tutorial - good practice excercise
Thanks Adam
