Qlik Sense Desktop Install

Hi Community.

I have a Puzzle that I am hoping can be resolved. So, I run through the install and it installs .Net framework and the general installer and it all seems fine.

Once finished I hit my new desktop icon for QLIK Sense Desktop...and nothing!!

The Qliksense.exe does launch in the processes tab of windows task manager but the actual program never fires up and opens??

Wasn't sure why so I did uninstall and reinstall...same problem?

Any ideas?

Thanks in Advance.

Hmm... how about the logs in C:\Users\{username}\Documents\Qlik\Sense\Log\System?

Don't have those (not there)...just the file from above which is the Start_engine log.

Hello Peter,

Check this thread. Seems similar. I think we are missing something basic here.

Sense 2.0 desktop, installation ends successfully but it doesn't work

I read that too, unfortunately they didn't get a conclusion.

I will see if I can get the Security tools disabled whilst I run through the install again. They are not  giving me any clear indication of "getting involved" but hey!!

Hello Peter,

As I said, I believe, it should be something basic that we are missing.

Put down all the barriers, antivirus, firewall, proxy etc. Proxy may be the probable cause as well.

Hi Peter,

Have you checked the Windows Event Viewer (Windows Logs->Application)?

‌Hmm... it looks like the Migration service does not respond to requests. Can you check if you have a process called MigrationService.exe running after you started the Qlik Sense Desktop? Also, there should be some logs for it in C:\Users\{username}\Documents\Qlik\Sense\Log\AppMigration.

Best regards,

Emilie

Port 4545 is only applicable for Qlik Sense Enterprise not for the Desktop version. Sorry for giving you misleading information before 😞

So,

Qliksense.exe gives me for both

(local Address)

TCP 127.0.0.1: 60741

and TCP 127.0.0.1: 60742

(foreign Address)

MYcomputer:9900

MYcomputer:9900

(State)

SYN_SENT

SYN_SENT

I would have thought that I should be getting a response and establishing?

Does that help?

This is with the Settings disabled in the Security. Software.

Not really 😞

What does the migration logs in C:\Users\{username}\Documents\Qlik\Sense\Log\AppMigration say?
