Different SR versions for Desktop Client and Server

Hi,

We are on QV11.2SR3 Desktop Client and Server.

We were having an issue where we could not connect to SFDC. This has been partly resolved where production documents are able to connect to SFDC and refresh successfully through QMC, but when the documents are refreshed through Desktop Client, we are not getting any data.

One suggestion that has been floated is to upgrade to a recent SR version for the Desktop Client, which might have an embedded DLL, which might resolve this.

So, my question is does any one have any experience with running different SR versions of Desktop and server, (Desktop at a more recent version than server) or any comments/suggestions about compatibility.

Any suggestion would be a big help.

Thanks,

Amitesh

If the only difference is that you're not getting data in Desktop, it doesn't feel like an upgrade will help you. This feels more like an authentication problem.

Can you get the username/password of the account that runs the QDS reloads through Management Console, and then launch desktop as that user for a test?

Thanks fchukoskie,

Our Integration Architect said the same thing as you that an upgrade won't help.

The issue is bigger than what can be fixed by an upgrade. It is a permissions thing and where the request is routed when the call is made to SFDC.

thanks,

Probably...if possible though, I'd run desktop as the QDS user just to confirm.
