Management console no longer works

when I click on the management console shortcut IE says "cannot display the web page". I have used this server for years and it has worked fine. Access Point works so that seems strange.

Windows server 2008 R2 Standard 64 bit

Its been a while since I installed it and I thought I was using IIS but IIS is not installed and QlikView webserver is running.

Reinstalling QlikView Server did not fix it. I built a new server for it and it is fine now.

That was the first thing I checked and no it was not. I turned it back on and it still does not work. I looked at QMS and it is turned off again.

The QMC pages are not generated by the web server that displays the AccessPoint, but by the QlikView Management Service.

You should do as Marco says and check in the services control panel whether the QMS is running. If it is, did you ever change the port number of the QMC? Normally QMC is reachable at port 4780.

The shortcut for a standard QMC is: http://localhost:4780/qmc/default.htm (if you are using a browser in a server session) or http://servername:4780/qmc/default.htm (from anywhere on your network).

Hi,

First step i would normally do with any QMC problems is to restart the the services.

Mark.

Thanks all.

The port is correct. I have rebooted the server.

The QV server log keeps repeating this:

I did run short/out of disk space on this server and the install might be corrupted.

On the server I get these Windows errors:

Event 700

The description for Event ID 700 from source QlikViewServer cannot

be found. Either the component that raises this event is not

installed on your local computer or the installation is corrupted.

You can install or repair the component on the local computer.

If the event originated on another computer, the display information

had to be saved with the event.

The following information was included with the event:

Debug: CNTService::OnInterrogate()

Event 3001

The performance counter name string value in the registry is not

formatted correctly. The malformed string is  . The first DWORD

in the Data section contains the index value to the malformed

string while the second and third DWORDs in the Data section

contain the last valid index values.

Event 1000

Performance counters for the WmiApRpl (WmiApRpl) service

were loaded successfully. The Record Data in the data

section contains the new index values assigned to this service.

If the install is corrupted, should I be able to just install over the old and maintain settings and content?

Doh.

Check the QMS log file. You'll find it in C:\ProgramData\QlikTech\ManagementService\Log. Take the one with today's date (or the most recent one) and post it here. It will contain an indication of what it doesn't like that much.

Hi,

you said Windows server 2008 R2 Standard 64 bit, the log file says 32 bit server, are you sure you have installed correct version?
