Hi,
I am using QlikView NPrinting Designer (v16.1.00) on our development server - Windows server 2012.
When trying to edit the template/report, I get the following error.
Can anyone confirm what editing software is supported?
I have OpenOffice 4.1.0 installed on the server.
OpenOffice does allow me to open the file manually (i.e. locating the file on the C drive), however, I get the above error when I try and 'Edit' the report via NPrinting.
NOTE; The template file (.nsq) was originally created on a W7 laptop. It was moved to the server thereafter for further testing and development. NPrinting outputs as expected during tests, I simply cannot edit the template...
Thanks as always,
C
Could you open the file C:\Users\Public\Documents\NPrinting\Template\Daily Sales Template.xlsx with Office (without using NPrinting) ?
When you move the NPrinting file (.nsq) have you moved the templace file located in "C:\Users\Public\Documents\NPrinting\Template\Daily Sales Template.xlsx" ?
Did you try to open the file with the new version of ms office and save it ?
(I'm pretty sure that you cannot use Open Office to edit NPrinting Template in NPrinting)
Regards,
Hi Jenn,
Sorry for not getting back to you sooner.
To answer your questions, I can open the Excel file directly with Open Office with Office, I have not tried to move the nsq file.
I can and have saved the template file with the new version of MS Office, however, the template will still not open with the NPrinting template editor.
To update you, I have created a new template in the new environment and I am getting the same error again. At this stage, I am going to ask our partner to look into it. Very frustrating...
Just to close this question off...
Final Update;
The NPrinting Designer was moved to another server.
MS Office 2010 was installed.
NPrinting developer was then installed.
Now, all project (.nsq) files open via the editor. Everything is working as expected.
I think the moral of this story is... Stay away from OpenOffice when working with Qlik NPrinting
Thanks again for your help and advice!
Hi Ciaran
I just had the same annoying problem.
For the solution I suggest saving the template as .xls instead of .xlsx.
I opened the template file with MS Excel and re-saved it to .xls. Then I changed the template in NPrinting to look for .xls instead of .xlsx file and what do you know... it worked again and now I can edit the previously created template again.

Hi,
So the problem is related to the Nprinting or MS Ofice?
Were you able to find the definitive solution for this?
If the template was modified with OpenOffice in any way (and this may happen just by opening the file and saving it without doing anything else), then it may not longer be compatible with NPrinting.
According to Qliktech support this issue is fix with the next Registry changes:
