Idle Timeout

What is the advantage of timing out an idle user? Would the server resources be freed up when a user is timed out? I am thinking of removing the timeout & want to know if there is any disadvantages of doing that.

It depends on your setup really.

If you have the timeout on both resources and more importantly CALs can be released.

If you eg have session CALs, you can use the timeout to make sure they are released and can be reused quickly.

We dont have a session CAL, only doc cals. Guess the question is, when a user closes session (or times out), is there any cleanup of resources which happen at the server level?
