QV server integration with LDAP/AD

Hi Team,

In one our client we need to setup QV Server & integrate with their LDAP for authentication. How should we do ? Is there any step by Step document available ?

Do we need to have QV server machine in the same domain of LDAP to configure & access ?

Any help will be much appreciated...

Is it AD or LDAP to a non-AD directory? There are some additional steps necessary when using a non-AD directory service.

If using AD, you can rely on standard Windows AD logins that handle authentication before a user gets in touch with any QlikView document.

To enable the services to resolve user names (in order to find users and distribute to them), define a Directory Service Connector for Active Directory. Just point the DSC to the/a Domain Controller and enter credentials if needed. That's about it.

And no, the QlikView server doesn't need to be in the same domain as the user or any other machine. QlikView supports users from multiple different domains, and can itself be only present in a single one at a time.

It is LDAP. Configuired in QV server using Configurable LDAP. I am able to connect & see the user list. But somehow authentication is getting failed ? What could be the reason ?

Do we need the QV Server machine in the same domain on LDAP server ? Does domain matters ?

Same question, different wording: what type of directory service are you connecting to using Configurable LDAP?

Then why don't you define an Active Directory DSC? Makes things a lot simpler...

BTW you can define as many Active Directory DSC's as you want (for multiple domains)

Thanks for your quick reply. It will be more helpful if you could share some document related to this configuration if present.

Sorry, I don't have any documents on this subject.

You could search the Resource Library for "LDAP" though.
