Use screenshot of QV worksheet in NPrinting.

Hi

I do not like to add QV objects on an NPrinting excel and print the objects, as this creates lots of dependencies between QV and NPrinting.

A much simpler approach would be to just make a screenshot of the current qv worksheet and use the screenshot in Nprinting, e.g. in an Excel or PDF file.

How is this possible with good quality of the screenshot?

Thank you - Marcel

Hi Marcel,

The ONLY input source of data or images for Nprinting is a QV object.   When you say you want to take a screen shot of a worksheet, I am guessing that this mean multiple objects.  How would you capture the screen shot other than manually?

I use images all the time.  Not sure what you mean by dependencies being a problem.   Even if you have 5 or more images of charts in QV, it is pretty easy to drop them into an Excel template in Nprinting.

Marcel -

You can add an image of any sheet from the QVW, including those that are hidden.

When you add the image to your template, search for "SH" and that should return all your QVW sheets (among others). Then just drag and drop the sheet ID into your template and you'll get the same view as if you were in the QVW.

If you don't like to add QV Objects to Nprinting why are you using Nprinting?

Just trying to understand what you are trying to accomplish?

Good point! Why to add QV objects to NPrinting, as printed stuff is always static. An image will give the same...

There are lots of threads dealing with how to get a dashboard into a PDF document. Thats my topic.

Thx - Marcel

Good stuff, indeed. It should be possible to hide unwanted objects on the sheet, so that they become invisible for Nprinting.

I will try this. Only a friend of mine told me, that image resolution is not too good using this approach. Lets see.

I am a fan of NPrinting Pixel Perfect.  It does what it says on the tin and is pixel perfect.  But that is another story for another thread and is not as simple as simply whacking on some qvw visualisation objects.

My suggestion is if there are unwanted items on the sheet, like list boxes for example, then copy the sheet, remove all unwanted objects and hide the sheet.

NPrinting will still recognize the hidden sheet in the object list for the templates.
