NPrinting Excel image sizes

Hi,

I am creating an NPrinting excel report and when I include a chart object and set it to fit inside an area, it still inserts lines further along to the right. How can I stop this happening? I don't want to use Powerpoint as I find it much easier to lay out tables of numbers in excel.

I attach screenshots of the template and the preview.

Thanks

Hi all,

I have come up with a fix, but I can't see it mentioned in any of the previous discussions. What I did was insert some lines, enough to hold the chart, then put the chart object on the last line, which is very important or it does not work when converted to html output. The object properties are set as "don't fit". Then hide the lines and preview.

Screenshots below. The image appears in the correct place, the hidden lines disappear and the data to the right does not get pushed down.

Open tool bar and set background to no fill and hide grids by un-checking the grid lines option.

It is not Nprinting issue it is excel property.

Chris,

I added an image to Excel and used these settings.  Just pick your height and the object should size to the dimension you want.  This is assuming that you have it set up proportionately in your QV app.

In this case, I adjusted the height to 300 or 3 Inches and let Nprinting automatically adjust the width based on the ratio in the qv app.

Hope that helps!

Hi Chris,

This has been discussed several times in this forum. Here is one discussion: Re: Instertion of a picture with NPrinting.

In your case it looks like the Max Width is restricted to 500 and the height adjusted proportionately as expected when using the Fit Inside option.

Hi Ajay,

This does not work because even though the gridlines are hidden it still inserts lines into the data to the right of the image and moves the data down.

Hi Mike,

It adjusts the image size fine, but I still get the problem where it inserts excel lines to do that, which causes the data to the right hand side to be shifted down. This even happens when I merge some cells which should easily contain the final image.

Hi @chriswain2

I know this has been a while since you posted this solution but I am having a similar issue (https://community.qlik.com/t5/Qlik-NPrinting-Discussions/Images-in-Excel-keep-adding-rows/m-p/176337...) and have tried following your advice to no avail. I was hoping you might be able to shed some more light on how you were able to solve this issue as inserting the line shapes is still not working for me. Thanks!
