Which way is better to load large SAS data to Qlikview?

I am wondering which way is faster to load large SAS data to Qlikview, 1). save it as CSV first -> store as QVD -> Import to Qlikview, or 2). Import through SAS ODBC?

I am currently using method 1 and it is pretty slow. Wondering whether method 2 worth trying.

Any sharing is appreciated.

Usually, with large data, the best way to improve the load time is the incremental load (if possible).

If not possible, you have to test the 2 option; IMHO the 2nd is more simple and more fast.

Thanks for the info. I will setup SAS ODBC and test it out.

Hi,

I think option2 is best because you are directly connecting to SAS and also it avoids CSV creation.  In addition to this implement Incremental Loading so that the load is faster when we pull less number of records from SAS and the historical from QVD.

Hope this helps you.
