Sure, check this community, www.qliktech.com or get in touch with your local distributor/partner

To develop, Windows based machines (XP, Vista, Seven, Server 2003, Server 2008 etc)
To deploy, Windows based server (2003, 2008 etc)
To view/analyze, Windows based machines just if you want to use the ActiveX for IE, if you don't, the ajax client works in any platform/browser

The characteristic of the PC, depends about the size of your models, number of records etc....

Ask for commercial support, but a small server with 10 users (CALS), it's around 10.000 USD

You can connect to any database if you have the right driver (by ODBC or OLEDB), but also can retrieve information from XLS, CSV, XML, HTML etc etc... any file with a defined structure

Yes, Personal Edition (P.E) only has restrictions about open QlikView Files (qvw), from other P.E or a licensed user, and some other functionalities like import layout

Check the online courses (there are some free ones), to start with the software, that will help you a lot.

Hope this helps

Hi

The steps are:

  • Create a black document (New File, save as..)
  • Go to the script editor (Ctrl + E)
  • At the bottom left you will se a radio option, ODBC/OLEDB choose one option
  • Press the Connect button and choose the source/driver for your connection
  • Then, pressing the Select button, the wizard will appear and you can select the tables/views (this can be achieved also typing the query by yourself)
  • Press the Reload button or Ctrl + R
  • Then, the records will be retrieved and you can start make the objects

Hope this helps

Hi Hector,

I am trying exactly the same thing loading a MSOLAP into QlikView. The test connection is success and able to select data... but I am not able to retrieve the records. I get "script error".

My script as follows:

OLEDB CONNECT TO [Provider=MSOLAP.4;Integrated Security=SSPI;Persist Security Info=False;Initial Catalog=Altius MIS Cube;Data Source=mis;Location=aclappserve1];

SQL SELECT *
FROM [Altius MIS Cube].[$Date];

When I do reload I get the Script Error.

Kindly guide me to sort this out. I am using QlikView 10 (32 bit version) and drivers with same versions
