Waterfall Chart to Read from Pre-Calculated Table

Good morning, appreciate please someone to help me as I need this by next week!

I have a table that takes pre-loaded data and calculates metrics from it, called Impact A, Impact B...these Impacts are things like Data 1 - Data 2 or Data 2 X Data 1...calculated figures from pre-loaded data.

I am interested in taking the SUM of these Impacts, then putting them in a waterfall.

Please see attached. As you can see I am unable to link the waterfall to the SUMS in the table. I type "Impact A" in the waterfall but it is not taking it or worse it gives me a different number than the total.

Is there a way for the waterfall to read from calculated items in the table?

you can try to use the same expression in Water fall Chart which you are using the table.

can you post sample data file so that it will be easy for us to help you.

Thank you for your reply. I cannot post the data file as it has too much sensitive data.

I tried using the same expression. In the example I posted I literally write ="Impact B" for the "subtract" waterfall portion. but it gives me blank as you can see, it should give me -2,688. It is not capturing "Impact B" in the waterfall chart.

If possible to connect via phone (I can call) I can explain better. Other wise I hope I was clear enough.

Hi,

What expression you are using in the Chart for Impact A and Impact B?

And in Water Fall chart ?

Hello,

In table, Impact A = IF("# Units '16"=0 OR "# Units '17"=0,"0",("AOP '17" - "AOP '16")*"# Units '17")

In chart, I click "Add" and enter "Impact A" in the field.

Hi,

can you create some dummy data and post it.

or you can try something like this in the chart:

add Expression:

=(Sum("AOP '17") - Sum("AOP '16"))*sum("# Units '17")

Not working. I simply want the chart to read "Impact A" Sum as is in the table.
