topic Saas Data Transfer Tool - System error: Failed to open file in write mode for file: \\servername\foldername\XXX.qvd in Data Movement & Streaming

Hi,

Using the Qlik Data Transfer Tool to move our On-Prem data to Qlik Cloud.

On Qlik Sevrer Enterprise Server we have an app running every hour to query a SQL server DB for modified entries to a number of tables, before concatenating the entires to the previous stored qvd. The combined table is then stored out out to qvd with the same name as the previous.

This folder is then being monitored by the Qlik Data Transfer Tool and syncing the qvd's to our Qlik Enterprise Saas for consumption by other apps.

99% of the time this works fine, but periodically the reload on Qlik Sense Enterprise Server will fail with error:

System error: Failed to open file in write mode for file: \\servername\foldername\XXX.qvd

Initiating the task again, doing nothing, still shows it to fail for the same reason.

I've noticed if i restart the Qlik Data Transfer Services and start the task again in the QMC it will reload successfully.

It's as if the Data Transfer Tool is holding on the qvd or something.

Any ideas?

Hi,

Qlik Data Transfer temporarily stores QVD files in C:\ProgramData\Qlik\DataTransfer\DataUpload\qixdata. After uploading, they are deleted from this location. I think error occurred when qvd is already in use or uploading in progress.

Thanks
