Part 4 provides you with a full step by step tutorial on building a basic Qlik Cloud Analytics app that sends data and parameters to a Qlik Automate automation, then formats the selected results into a HTML formatted message that can be sent to a public email address.

NOTE: Requires Qlik Cloud Analytics and Qlik Automate

Create a new automation
Right click on the automation canvas
Select "Upload workspace"
Choose .json file
Configure your mail client credentials
Save your automation

H Jonatan - yes - I will cover this in another video - the extension is here in case you did not get it:

Configuring it is quite simple - just note that is not a Qlik sanctioned extension, it is open source - Riley is looking at making some improvments on it. It currently creates bookmarks and does not use temporary bookmarks - depending on the features you use etc.

Hi Mike.

Awesome video!!

Trying to replicate the setup and stealing with pride (obviously).. However, when trying to find the automation after selecting the action "execute automation" in the button, the new automation just created, doesn't show up in the search menu. also i cannot "just" insert the name of the automation directly.

Im admin of our tenant and have just about all roles under the sun.

Any suggestions?

Hey,

First, make sure that the automation and the app are in the same Space.

If everything is aligned, try doing a quick refresh sometimes it helps.

If it still doesn’t appear, it’s likely because you have a relatively large number of automations or draft automations.It is likely because you have more than 100 automations.

Find an automation by its ID

Open the automation you are looking for in the editor.
Look at the URL in your browser's address bar.
The automation ID is the string of characters between /automations/editor/ and /edit. For example, in the URL https://qlik.com/automations/editor/6c201b49-cz2e-00dc-8040-464ca41457b0/edit, the ID is 6c201b49-cz2e-00dc-8040-464ca41457b0.
When using the "Execute Automation" button, you can manually enter this ID to select the correct automation.

Thanks @jonatan_abergel and @mikkelhechthans - I think there is a known limitation - if your environment has more than 100 automations - it will only show the first 100 - I know it is frustrating and I am trying to get them to fix this. I think that is why you did not see your automation. @jonatan_abergel suggestion is the best workaround. Thanks to you both!
