Hi, the Oracle limit for 30 characters for column names was removed quite some time ago by Oracle. (12.2 release of Oracle database ).

Prior releases of Oracle database are already out of support (1.2 end of support is also this November) and the only way to continue limiting to 30 characters is to have the COMPATIBLE setting for the database to less than 12.2 - which also limits functionality to the prior versions of the database.

Since this constraint should no longer exist in supported versions of the Oracle database, this feature is not planned.

It would be helpful if we could edit and shorten the system generated RUNNO_UPDATE and RUNNO_INSERT column names added to each table name to create system generated columns. Ideally they could be in the Settings > Naming along with the prefix and suffix naming. When running in an Oracle DW, which limits object names to 30 characters, we are frequently needing to shorten the native table names to mitigate ORA-00904 invalid identifier errors.

Seconded as an Oracle source/target user. We have to make sure our entity names are a max of 17 characters so we don't run into this issue.... and if they ever introduce other system columns with prefixes or suffixes that are longer than the 13 characters of the _RUNNO_INSERT and _RUNNO_UPDATE, we will not be in a good situation. This is honestly less of an "idea" and more of a bug fix.
