Waterfall Chart Color by Dimension

It would be great to have the same coloring options on the waterfall that are available on some of the standard chart objects (e.g. bar and line charts). I would prefer this object to have the ability to color by dimension, I am always being asked to color waterfall bars by a category and I have to tell my customers that it can't be done. You could still easily color by pos/neg with color by measure or expression setting.

Thank you all for your feedback on ways to improve our product. While this is something we understand would be useful, it's not on the short-term roadmap. Please continue to show your support for this idea by commenting and liking.

Meanwhile, the variance waterfall is alternative, also the new combo chart can be used to build up more complex waterfall charts with individual coloring.

I don't understand why this idea doesn't get the traction it deserves. Dimension-based waterfall is one of my favorite chart on Tableau.

@Patric_Nordstrom Hello. Can you explain (or even a link) on how the combo chart could be used for that ?
