QlikView web-view - Changing the rendering engine

The web-view within the QlikView desktop client is fixed to the IE as rendering engine. Since some years the IE is outdated and doesn't support newer and common html/js features and AFAIK the tool is dying soon. Therefore it's needed to replace the IE with another browser to get again a satisfying user experience.

I think this is still important for many users and is not only related to basic html to display just tables else to keep extensions working. A particular background for this idea was specified here:
