Hello everyone,

in QlikView it was possible to arrange a listbox horizontally to display a calendar year or the calendar months.

Unfortunately Qlik Sense does not offer this possibility, only with the help of extensions. But this function should become a standard function of the filter box.

Thanks

If possible, I would like to see this as an option of the already existing filter pane.
In case the end user is on a phone/small screen, I would like to see it going automatically back to the current filter pane, in order to optimize space

Riccardo

I second this proposal, especially since the last free version of the Climber selection pane is not working properly anymore after the June 2020 release.

Our end users are used to selecting dates and periods this way, since the date picker is horrible.

Thank you for your feedback on ways to improve our product. While this is something we understand would be useful, it's not on the short-term roadmap. Please continue to show your support for this idea.

Horizontal filter panes works best for dimensions with few values like Months or Quarters. A partial workaround is to set the filter to one grid high and use the label to so it looks a button row:

=concat(distinct Year, ' | ', Year)

Thanks,
Patric

Indeed, nearly ALL of our dashboards contain horizontal filters, at least for date values.
For the moment, we are forced to use extensions for this, which brings issues at every upgrade.

Please, could you update the default filter pane to have the possibility to show the values horizontally (with a number limit that can be set, e.g. show horizontally when max N values, else show vertically)

Note: The workaround allows to show the values, but does not show the Green-Grey associative colors, nor does it allow to select directly on the values...

This is like super-important for creating compact design and nice look-and-feel. Easy clickable filters on top and responsive content below is something people are very familiar with from casual web browsing = will increase user adoption of Qlik.

Clicking on a filter pane to show the list of options that one must select is one click too many for dimensions with less than 12 values (actually 10 but that would exclude months which are also often a top level selection so I wrote 12 😉 ).
