idea Integrate hypercubes from two separate apps into a single app and its chart objects in Suggest an Idea

We are looking for a solution that would allow us to create chart objects that can merge data from 2 qlik applications (app1 and app2) and write expressions against that merged data set using native qlik functionality. We have a lot of self-service users, so the user experience should be something a ‘regular’ user can do, not something that would require a developer.

For example, say we have a 100 mb app - app1 that is client specific and another 5 gb app - app2 which contains data that can be shared among multiple apps. In today’s world we need to duplicate the 5 gb app2 each time we add a client (even though the data within app2 - 5gb is the same). This dramatically increases the cost of our Qlik infrastructure.

app1 - calculates hypercube 1

app2 - calculates hypercube 2.

This solution would merge hypercube 1 and hypercube 2 into a new merged hypercube - hypercube 3. Hypercube 3 is then use in the end chart object. Hypercube1 and Hypercube2 could be discarded as only hypercube 3 would be used. This would need to work on any sheet or chart object with an app.

Direct Discovery sort of provided this ability before… , but last I heard this DD was no longer being developed.

something like this... but more temporary... and doable by a "regular" user 🙂
