Report does not output to network drive when using scheduler

I am trying to output a scheduled report to a network drive, but get an error message in the log every time. The report does run without encountering any problems, when triggered manually. Does anybody know where I am going wrong?

I get this line in the log: Error Error: Output folder K:\...\WOs\ not created.

I have deleted part of the path here.

Did you use absolutely path?

For example your K drive should be something like:

\\yourserver\yourfolder\

I am using 16, and in 16, you can't use the driver letters except local.

NPrinting doesn't support mapped drives as Alex noted.

Hi,

according to this document Configuring and Troubleshooting NPrinting Server Service and Schedules

Mapped Drives: Windows services run in Session 0, and mapped drives are not supported in Session 0 or the NPrinting background service where NPrinting report processing occurs. Thus, the NPrinting Service does not support the use of Mapped Drives. UNC (Universal Naming Convention) paths must be used for any NPrinting related files that are accessed over the network. For instance \\ServerName\SharedFolderName\... is a correct path instead of Z:\SharedFolderName\... is not supported

Thank you all. I have now used UNC paths and everything works as it should.

HI Maria , can you walk threw me how to do it, i have a requirement to send report by email and also dump that report ion network drive

I, too, am interested in a solution. I have a report distributed via email and network drive location. I've only used a UNC path, without any success.

The Log says it cannot Create the folder. The destination already exists, could that be the problem? Can it only create a location?

Hi Jason,

Your NPrinting Server Service account probably does not have access to (or the required privileges to) write to that location. Try my suggestions in the other thread: Nprinting 16 network share drive

Thank you, Daniel. We recently had some domain changes and I'm thinking nPrinting's account domain lost its read/write privileges. I submitted a ticket and will know for sure, soon. Thank you for pointing me in the right direction!
