Above image is connecting to a Qlik Sense server, not QlikView, and there are significant differences between them.

Anyway, domain user means a user valid in the domain, not a local user generated to log in locally. The service account must be able to log in to other computers, therefore requiring to be a domain account, not a computer local account.

Indeed it is a requirement in help document. I did not notice this one- thanks for sharing.

How I have achieved this?

In QlikSense QMC which is sitting in Domain A i went to UserDirectoryConnector and i have created a connection to ActiveDirectory of a Domain B

this brought me a list of users from domain B

I have looked up a NPrinting service account user on user list and I made it a Root Admin

I have also exported SSL certificates

The main thing is to ensure that NPrinting Service Account User can access hub which i did by simply RDP to NPrinting server opening web browser and opening QlikSense hub (which is going to URL from the other domain)

Obviously you have to make sure all ports are open between domains and all other requirements are in place.

regards

Lech

This means it might work or it might not. It might work and stop working later. If you open a case with Support, you will be asked to separate the two as that combination is "unsupported". Both on the same server (demo environment)

I was in touch with Qlik Support. They told me it's a known issue, that uninstalling 17.4 and installing 17.3 resolved the issue for another customer.

I did it and it solved the issue for me.

Hi Kavita,

Are both QlikSense and NPrinitng in the same domain? Can they both access domain controllers?

Upgrade your NPrinting to version February 2018. I had the same error for since version 17.4 i think, and it was for me "false positive". The latest version fixed the problem.

Go To Nprinitng admin console --> users --> find a qlksrvadmin user and make sure that DOMAIN ACCOUNT is filled for the user running the NPrinting engine (kalpatarugroup\qlksrvadmin)

Do you have all required ports open between NPrinting and Qlik Sense? Certificates exported and installed? User added to RootAdmins.. looks like this user cannot access QRS API

cheers

Lech

Hi @Lech_Miszkiewicz , I'm curious if you are still successfully running NPrinting in a multi-domain Windows environment. I am trying it with NPrinting February 2019. No luck so far -- I cannot refresh the metadata in my NPrinting app. Sense is in its own workgroup and not on the domain where the NPrinting service account is. I cannot log into Sense with that account in a browser on the Sense machine. (Users normally authenticate via SAML.) On top of that, the 2 servers are on different networks so 2 firewalls are between them.

I did make the svc account a RootAdmin in Sense (and it is in Sense thanks to a UDC). I also exported SSL certs to NPrinting.

Thanks for any tips!
