NPrinting Import Users Template - a user field is missing

I just noticed today that in the NP web console on an individual User input screen, there is a field to enter "Description", HOWEVER, I do not see this field listed in the import user template. Can anyone advise on this? I have many users to import and would like to utilize this field in the import because not only is it informative when looking on the main Users screen on the web console, but gives me a way to search for groups of users at a time. Thanks.

Template does not contain all fields,is missing also fields like: Folder or Subfolder.

I use API to populate this data as it is available via API.

Hi,

At the moment (April 2018) the only way to update the Description field of a user is manually.

This field is not imported from the Excel file and it is not possible to update it by using the APIs.

I created a proposed improvement to add the support for importing Description in a newer version.

Thanks for the info and for submitting a proposed improvement as I think it would be very beneficial to have a way to filter large groups of users by using this field.

On this same topic, I now have a need to do a mass import to include Folder and Subfolder. Are these going to be added to the recommendation also to have some of these missing fields added to the import template, and if so, any idea on timeline? I'm sure I'm not the only one with hundreds of users to import. Thanks.

Hi,

Importing folders and subfolders from Excel files will be available starting from next version September 2018.

September 2018 will have a lot of improvements in the importing user task.

New fields have been added to the import template. Haven't tried it yet, but the new fields are:

Users tab - Description, Folder, Sub Folder, Read Password, Write Password
Group tab - Enabled
