Does Filters,Task,Conditions,Triggers reflect automatically when we backup and restore from N-printing 17.3.1 to 17.4 or 17.5

Hi,

I Have to upgrade my N-printing from version 17.3.1 to 17.4(June Release).

I have a query whether the Filters,Task and Conditions will reflect automatically when we backup and restore from N-printing 17.3.1 to 17.4 or 17.5

Like will the task,Filters and conditions will be present when i restore my backup in N-printing 17.4 or 17.5 version automatically.

And Also I have a scenario

where my N-Printing and Qlikview server are on two different Machine.

So if i backup and try to restore from N-printing 17.3.1 to 17.4 or 17.5 will the backup get restore properly and will it reflect my Filters,Task and Conditions

AM not sure,

but it will not effect any thing if you do the upgrade how you are doing currently.

meanwhile take the back up.

Hi Shaikh,

You can only restore on the same version. So if you take a backup of a 17.3.1 repository, it can only be restored on a 17.3.1 instance.

When moving from one machine to another, make sure they are both on the same version of NPrinting. Once the backup is restored on the destination machine, take a backup (in case something goes wrong with your upgrade) and upgrade the destination instance to the new version. Same is true if upgrading on the same machine. Please read the release notes carefully as there is an upgrade path to be followed. Although there should be no problem for you to upgrade directly to June 2007 or September 2017 as you are on 17.3.1.
