Does NPrinting on QlikSense use an API call?

Hello all,

QlikSense limits QRS API call to 5 simultaneous sessions. NPrinting uses one of these sessions to reload metadata and generate reports? So, should I use a dedicated user for NPrinting or can I use the same of the QlikSense services users?

you can use the service user for this. API calls dont need a access token/license.

We try to not use the service user in qlik sense. As there was a problem with this and the sessions counted or something like that.

as always i suggest to read official documentation which clearly suggest to use dedicated users for NPrinting services and explains why...

the second part of your question touches "know-how" of how NPrinting work and i think we will not get an answer. This is knowledge is kept rather behind closed R&D doors, obviously we could assume how it works, but details cannot be shared i believe.
