Hi,

PixelPerfect and word are two different kind of templates.

Unfortunately in a Word template you cannot remove the empty page that is generated when you add a page break in a level.

Hi all,

I am having issues when creating multi-layout pages in Pixel Perfect and I found this post:

https://community.qlik.com/t5/Qlik-NPrinting-Discussions/How-to-add-a-landscape-page-in-between-portrait-page-in-pixel/m-p/1093705/highlight/true

Which leads me to create the Pixel Perfect report in Word template.

Here's the problem:

In the portrait layout, I need to have a level to loop through all the categories within the level. Then, I added a page break before </grouping_Level> so that each group will be generated in one group per page.

After breaking this page, </grouping_Level> is pushed downwards to a new page.

Next, I create a new section for landscape layout. This will create an empty page due to the </> after the first page break.

How can I remove this empty page?

Thanks and regards,

Arthur Fong

Hi Ruggero,

If that is the case, is there any way to design multi-layout report, with different level groupings in each layout?

Hi,

What do you mean with "multi-layout"?

In a template you can insert how many Levels you need. Please note that adding many Levels could slow down creation performances.

Best Regards,

Hi,

Yes, you can combine portrait and landscape pages with different levels as in the attached report. Refer to Microsoft documentation about using different orientations on a single Word document.

Hi Ruggero,

Yes I am trying in Word template currently.

Note that the Commentary part is a free text where it can be in a range of 1 to 10 rows, depending on which group it is.

(eg: Group A can have 10 rows of text, Group B with 1 row, Group C with 5 rows.)

Hence, I need a page break so that these 3 group are place accordingly in 3 different portrait orientated pages.

If I did not insert the page break, after the Commentary part for Group B , Group C header will be populated and it doesn't looks good. Example as below:

However if I insert a page break before the "</grouping_Level>", this will end up with an empty page before the starting of the landscape page.

Hope I am clear in my explanation.

Anyway thanks for looking into this issue, hope that pixel perfect has the option to create different page orientation of report soon.

Thanks and regards,

Arthur Fong

Hi,

I created the attached report by adding new lines (pressing enter) instead of inserting a page break. Iknow, it is not a clean solution. I suppose also that a variable length text could broke it.

After a few trial and error methods, I finally get the result desired!

Insert the free-text into a Word textbox and expand this textbox till the down-most of the portrait page.

Next, increase the bottom page margin to be slightly higher so that the header from the next page will not be continued right after the free-text section.

Thanks to Ruggero for looking into this issue.

Arthur Fong
