NP 16.3 to NP Feb 2019..migration steps

Hi All,

I have the following scenario and my task is to get the migration of NPrinting 16.3 files to Nprinting Feb 2019

1)I have the NPrinting Desinger installed on a windows machine

2).I have the Old NPrinting server installed on another windows machine

3).I have NPrinting console - web tool for the New Nprinting Feb 2019

I do not see the import .nsq files in NP Feb 2019... do I have to create manually?

when I get into the report template I see the import template option but there is no option like import project?

can some one please list the steps... in the order for the above scenario - thanks a lot

Hi @RheaQv12

The NP 16.x (32 bit platform) NSQs are not found in the 64 bit Qlik NPrinting platform.

I suggest that you upgrade your NPrinting deployment and following the instructions here to achieve a smooth migration.

Nov. 2019 allows for a more comprehensive migration. February 2019 only allows for report migrations only.

we have Feb 2019 as new version and the old version is 16.3 - I think the old version is 64 bit...

does this mean I have to create the app, filters, connections manually and import the report template?

Did I understand your steps correct? since we don't have Nov 2019 Nprinting version looks like I need to go with the manual steps - is this right? thanks a lot

To migrate reports using your version of NPrinting February 2019 release, you may follow the steps in the article below:

Yes you will have to re-create each point you mentioned once you successfully migrate the reports as mentioned in the article above...ie: app, filters, connections etc

Hi Frank,

thanks a lot again. In the NP Feb 2019 I created the App, Connection, Filters and for the report when I click on the import new report and navigate to the folder where I have the .xlsx report it is not opening at all.

I created the zip file while includes the .xlsx file - when I try to import the .zip file I see the message "the report file does not contain valid data"

how do I import the .xlsx file into the NP Feb 2019?
