topic MAX Filtering in Qlik NPrinting

Hi Community,

Already using MAX filter in some of my Nprinting reports. Most of these filters are looking at dates. Is it possible to do something like MAX-1 that would allow me to show the previous month?

Example - Date field i want to use is formatted MMM YYYY in the Qlik app itself and is updated weekly but a Nprinting report is only required monthly (first week of the month) If i just used MAX it would show the current month which would only be a handful of days instead of the previous month.

Appreciate any help with this.

Cheers, Dan

Re: MAX Filtering

Hi,

ok - so here is a thing - check this link where i describe the same: https://community.qlik.com/t5/Qlik-NPrinting-Discussions/Using-Date-Filter-in-Qlik-nPrinting/td-p/1705366

Max function has parameter so you could use something like Max(YourMonth,1) or Max(YourMonth,2) etc...

Where we have no information is actually around your month year field:

how was it created in Qlik Sense?

Is it text field

is it dual (numerical, timestamp with text mask)

There is big difference in option text and dual and you need different approach for each of them.

I wrote about it many times:

here: https://nprintingadventures.com/2019/02/15/the-pitfalls-of-nprinting-filters-part-1-dates-and-duals/

and here: https://nprintingadventures.com/2022/03/19/filters-in-nprinting-how-hard-can-it-be-part-3-evaluate-value/

I cannot stress how important it is to understand duality of the data in Qlik when it comes to NPrinting filters!

hope the above clarifies it for you.

cheers
