Hi,

I’m planning to upgrade my Qlik NPrinting environment, which is currently running May 2021 (version 21.14.3.0). This NPrinting instance is connected to both a QlikView environment (version 12.50.20400) and a Qlik Sense environment (November 2024 Patch 5 – version 14.212.12).

I’ve already reviewed the official upgrade procedures on the Qlik website, as well as the release notes available in the Qlik Community.

My main question is:
Is it necessary to also upgrade the QlikView version, or can I proceed with updating only NPrinting?

Hi,

QlikView compatibility is documented at https://help.qlik.com/en-US/nprinting/February2025/Content/NPrinting/DeployingQVNprinting/System-requirements_engine.htm.

If you have a not compatible versions with the Qlik NPrinting version you want to install you have to upgrade also QlikView. Using a version not documented as supported could results in random errors and nothing will automatically stop you during the installation QlikView Desktop must be at the same version of the Server.

The same for Qlik Sense: you must use a version compatible with the version of Qlik NPrinting you are installing.
