NPrinting - Run task to send e-mail to dynamic recipient

Hi all,

I’m using the on-demand service to run reports directly from the QVW file. However, instead of running the report itself, I’d like to run a Task to generate the report and send it through e-mail to the user whom ran the task. I have on my document a list of all the users and e-mails but the task definition on NPrinting only allows me to send an e-mail to a predefined user or set of users.

Is there any way to the recipient of the email be determined on the execution of the task?

i don't think that out of the box you'll be able to do so

but with a simple macro that save a new recipient data in the server side then

loaded to nprinting you should be able to do it

i'll try to upload a demo qlikview app later

there is another on demand extension object that works just like the report is is for tasks

syntax is almost identical but you enter the task inforamtion isntead of the report

Hi Gustavo,

Glad that worked for you. However, it still remains that "...the task definition on NPrinting only allows me to send an e-mail to a predefined user or set of users." Which from your initial post I gathered that you did not want. That is why (I assume) Liron was talking about new recipient data.

Hi @subodhshenoy

If you are new to NPrinting 19 platform (versions of NP 17 and higher versions)

I suggest that you have a look at the following link to get more familiar with this new 17 + platform.

The earlier response was to an NPrinting 16.x.x.x platform question which is vastly different to how NPrinting 17 + platform fundamentally works.

So to deliver reports to a group of recipients you need to create an NPrinting group and add NP users to that group.

Then create a publish task and add that group to the task.

Also if you notice that the older 16 platform is cited here in the community, I would recommend starting a new discussion to address any NP 17 + platform questions going forward.
