NPrinting 17: send 1 email to multiple recipients

Hi all,

It seems NPrinting by default sends emails one by one to each recipient, instead of e.g. 5 recipients in the same email. Is there any option to get this? I tried import task with a single row email value like "norm@abc.com;alex@abc.com", but this email gets sent twice, once to norm, and then again to alex. Any way I can get it sent to norm and alex in the same email?

Sifat,

I've done some tests and it is not currently possible to use the NP 17 import task for more than a single email for a single recipient in the 'email' field of the recipient import file. Invalid character errors are issue in the log file.

However, you can import recipients as groups or you can manually create report distribution groups.

In either case, each recipient will receive a single email but the email addresses for all the recipients will not appear. Just the individual recipient email will appear even if a email is sent using a 'group'.

ps: for the group import to work, the following mandatory fields are needed in the group import.

-Email (single email address only)

-Username

-Time Zone

I tested without Time zone and got errors.

To get the correct time zone, just create a trigger to view the time zone values for the correct syntax.

note: if you want the users added to groups correctly, make sure that the group name is spelled identically in the Users Tab and the Group tab.

Finally, there is no Active Directory connector to existing AD users and groups so each user and group must be created separately from AD.

In conclusion...Aran's option is best if you want to see the email addresses of your recipients in the report distribution.

Thanks Frank for the info. What if the single email in the To field is a distribution list email? e.g. let's say the DL groupA@abc.com is a DL containing 6 recipients. Would it then send a single email to all 6 recipients in the DL? This works in Outlook at least.

Great, I just tested and this works. So basically, I will have to ask IT to create some DLs containing the groups I want. The reason for this requirement is so that people receiving the email can reply back and forth on it and include the group recipients on it. Won't always be the case but good to have.

yes your right but while replying make sure you will not include the NPriting sever email id because it will not get delivered and you will get the un successful email for the same.

Hi Rahman,
i have a similar requirement to send a report to multiple users so we created a DL in outlook which has a set of users in it. But did not work for me.
- I tried to cc the DL group

- tried creating a user with email id as the email id of DL group.

both did not work. you said it worked for you. can you please let us know what you did.

Dear all,

I'am too facing an issue. I am using NPrinting 17. The issues is, when i add users in "TO"(Say 77 users in "TO") and in "CC"(Say 10 users in "CC") or "BCC" and send the mail via NPrinting then the 77 users who are in "TO" will get 1 mail but those who are in "CC" will get 77 mail.

Can any one suggest what can be done.

Nothing can be done - this works as designed.

NPrinintg is sending to each user 1 email and for each recipient it needs to send emails to CC recipients (as they need to know that each reciepient got their own email).

All what you can do is to put CC recipients into main recipients list, although it will only make sense If you did not use recipient filters!
