Thanks. A test task will be done before the changes occur on the production tables.

Hi,

I have a scenario where some columns are required to be added to some Oracle tables. The task is from Oracle to Azure Synapse, it runs in Full Load and CDC mode.

What are the considerations when it comes to running these changes? Are there any best practices? I'm thinking the tables changed should be reloaded or to ensure that the task is stopped before running the DDL changes, then resuming the task.

Help with this is much appreciated. Thank you.

Regards,

Mohammed

Hello Mohammed, @MoeE

Qlik Replicate supports DDL operations for Oracle source endpoint and Azure Synapse target Endpoint. I do not think you need to stop the task prior to the DDL, instead, please keep the task running and perform the DDL operations eg adding columns. Just please make sure all the existing DML changes are replicate to target side , then do the DDL changes.

BTW, I'd like to suggest a sanity test before implement in PROD system.

Hope this helps.

John.
