Hi Team,

I am working on a use case where I need to encrypt sensitive data using HashiCorp Vault while migrating data from source to target using Qlik Replicate. To achieve this, I plan to develop a User-Defined Function (UDF) that will handle the encryption process by interacting with HashiCorp Vault.

I would like clarification on the execution behavior of UDFs within Qlik Replicate:

Does the UDF process each row individually, meaning that for a table with 1 million rows, it would result in 1 million API calls to HashiCorp Vault?
Alternatively, is there a way to process data in batches, leveraging HashiCorp Vault’s batch encryption capability?
If yes can you point me to related documentation or resources

Understanding this behavior is crucial for optimizing performance and minimizing the number of API calls to HashiCorp Vault. I appreciate your guidance on this matter.

Hi,

I am not sure what is the endpoint you are working with. For some of the endpoints, Replicate uses UDF for capturing CDC data. I would recommend you to open a case for proffesional services so they can help you to achieve your requirements as part of the Replicate implementation.
