Hello @EE_

Qlik Replicate automatically detects the AS400 DB2 character set and uses ICU modules to convert the source CCSID to UTF-8. It then converts the UTF-8 characters into the target endpoint’s NLS character set. Please note that ICU modules are used only in the source connection.

If you need more detailed implementation steps, I recommend opening a support ticket and working with our PS team.

Hope this helps.

Question about character set conversion handling in Qlik Replicate

Hello,

I would like to clarify the processing flow of character set conversion in Qlik Replicate.

Am I correct in understanding that Replicate first applies the default code page file?

When using “Converting to a custom code page”, is this step executed only after the code page file has been processed?

In what situations does “Substituting or deleting Source Characters unsupported by the selected character set” apply?

In my current scenario (Source database: IBM i / AS400 DB2), unrecognizable characters are already being converted through the code page file. As a result, I now need to configure the conversion settings at the individual column level.

Any clarification on the exact order of operations and best practices for handling such cases would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.
