&lt;P&gt;From the page,&amp;nbsp;A DBCS-open field means:&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;STRONG&gt;a column that can contain both single-byte (SBCS) and double-byte (DBCS) characters in the same field.&lt;/STRONG&gt;&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;So, you could have:&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;STRONG&gt;ABC日本語123&lt;/STRONG&gt;&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;in one column — all valid. In general it's mapped to GRAPHIC/VARGRAPHIC, Replicate should support it.&lt;/P&gt;
