WSFC HA for Qlik Replicate – Cluster IP vs Role CAP requirement

Hi,

In a WSFC setup for Qlik Replicate / Qlik Enterprise Manager, the cluster itself requires a Cluster IP during creation.

Is this Cluster IP alone sufficient for Qlik HA, or is it mandatory to also configure a role-level Client Access Point (Virtual Network Name + IP) for the Qlik role?

Additionally, does Qlik use only the role-level CAP for connectivity, with no dependency on the WSFC cluster core name/IP?

No, the WSFC cluster core name/IP alone is not sufficient for Qlik high availability.
For Qlik Replicate and Qlik Enterprise Manager in WSFC, you must configure a role‑level Client Access Point (CAP) (Virtual Network Name + IP) for the Qlik clustered role. This CAP is the supported and stable access point for clients and licensing.

Yes, Qlik uses only the role‑level CAP for client connectivity.
Qlik services, Web UI, and licensing are intended to connect via the role’s virtual network name/IP, and do not depend on the WSFC cluster core name/IP for application access (the cluster core name/IP is for cluster management only)
