Hello Ranga,

First I'd like to bring to the attention that native Amazon Aurora PostgreSQL is currently only supported as a Source and in order to use as a target it has to be used through the MySQL endpoint, is this your case?

Consequently, yes you can use the Source DB Reader Endpoint rather than using Writer Endpoint in Replicate's Source Amazon Aurora PostgreSQL.

Now regarding the writer endpoint, this would apply if you have a PostgreSQL based endpoint as the Target. Could you elaborate more on what kind of workaround you're mentioning? What is the goal trying to achieved?

Regards,
Pedro

Aurora PostgreSQL Reader endpoint as Source

Currently we are replicating data from

Source DB: Amazon Aurora Postgres Version 13.6

Target DB: Amazon Aurora Postgres Version 13.6

Would like to confirm if we can use Source DB Reader Endpoint rather than using Writer Endpoint( As there will be one write and multiple readers).

We are aware that it creates replication slot and that requires Writer Endpoint and would like to confirm if they are any workarounds?

Thanks,

Ranga
