No direct database access. Alternatives?

We have a product that we're trying to pull in to Replicate but they do not provide direct db access. However, they have an API. Is it possible to use an API to connect in Replicate?

At this time we do not support pulling data or applying data using anything other than a direct database connection. If this is something you would like us to support in the future, please submit your feature request here: https://community.qlik.com/t5/Ideas/idb-p/qlik-ideas
