Thanks. SO if i understood it correctly, having log stream set up is not going to impact the HA of Qlik replicate server. It is just a configuration thing and can be handled irrespective of whether where we use log stream or not?

Hi ,

Can someone please enlighten me whether we lose out on DR capability of Qlik replicate when log streaming option is used ? Has this been addressed in one of the recent release ?

Thanks,

Hello Team,

Configure Log streams serves the different purpose. Its is there to reduce the interaction with Source endpoint in term of established PROCESS/connection if you multiple task. One parent log stream task gathers information from the Source endpoint and put all the info in configured staging folder then all the Child tasks read the changes or captured data and push it to configured Target endpoint. Normal use case is recommended Where you want to replicate Same tables to different type of endpoint.

As per My Understanding DR capability is something different which is configured between databases.

it is not recommended in general to use DR solution along with replication for Same source and same endpoint.

Regards,

Thanks Sushil for your quick response. Yes we are planning to use log stream exactly for the same purpose that you mentioned about ie., make one connection to source and replicate data for multiple target endpoint via log streaming. And when i mentioned about the DR capability , am not referring to the DR of source or target Dbs. Qlik replicate server itself can be configured for HA ( high Availability ). My understanding was we will lose out the DR capability of Qlik replicate server for the jobs that is configured as log streaming jobs. May be because the data is first streamed to a staging dir ?

My question here is -

1. is my understanding above correct with regards to losing out on HA of qlik replicate server on log streaming jobs ?

2. If yes, has this been recently addressed in any of the recent releases ?

Thanks,

Hello Team,

Qlik replicate server itself can be configured for HA (high Availability). as i understood ACTIVE passive node Configuration . As you crate the Staging folder Or i Have to Say DATA Dir/Staging on shared Disk accessible by both node and Have Access to by QLIK Replicate user/Admin there Would not be any issue.

Refer below HELP doc link to configure and Do the testing .
