Hi,

Yes, it is possible to export notification rules by indicating the include_server_settings option in the export command like in the following example:

[Replicate home]\Replicate\bin\repctl.exe exportrepository task=TASK_NAME include_server_settings=TRUE

Regards,

repctl.exe is part of a Replicate installation but your screen capture is for an installation of Enterprise Manager. There are API calls you can use to export tasks in Enterprise Manager: Qlik Enterprise Manager API guide | Qlik Enterprise Manager Help

Hope this helps!

If the repctl command includes these Notification Rules, how should I run it ?

Hi @Ole_Dufour

I'm not sure if the API can use the "include_server_settings" parameter, but you can run the command directly on your Linux Replicate server.

Run the following command in the Replicate bin directory:

source ./arep_login.sh

Then run:

repctl -d data-directory exportrepository task=TASK_NAME include_server_settings=TRUE

If the <product_dir>\data folder was installed in a non-default location during the installation - OR - if it was later moved to a non-default location, you need to tell Replicate where the folder is located.

This is done by including the -d <data_folder> parameter in the command.

Example:

repctl -d D:\Data exportrepository task=mytask

Hope this helps!

Notifications are managed at server level, defined/filtered by task.

You need to used the ExportAll API and parse the output JSON for the Notification settings and select in there.

(and yes, in the example I happened to pick the notification name does not match the action 🙂

You can trim down the JSON to just have the notifications in their normal downward path and ImportAll.

I just tested using REPCTL IMPORTREPOSITORY with the following JSON and it works for me, without restart

Ah ok, you are talking AEM now (and Before, but I ignored that)

I'm not sure, I think the server vs tasks is in fact implied by the notification as such.

I think you can create an example, possibly in Replicate, on given server. Export that, and import (using AEM) to all servers. Of course you'd check for server specific details before blasting it out.

Hi Hein,

I understand from your answer that it is impossible to use the Replicate API's listed here : https://help.qlik.com/en-US/enterprise-manager/May2023/Content/EnterpriseManager/EnterpriseManager_APIGuide/CurlAPI/aem_rest_api_intro.htm

According to previous posts in this thread, we'll need to go with the repctl command.
Since our installation path is not the default one, we'll need to include the data folder as a parameter when running repctl.

I'm having a hard time finding the data folder.

The below command :

<LI-CODE lang="markup">find ~ -type d -name "*data*" -print</LI-CODE>

only returns directories names containing 'metadata' in their names.

Can you point me in the right direction?

Thanks for your time and your patience,

Ole

I expect you to be able to import notification rules using AEM ImportAll. - Did you try?

The data folder is a concept, not a name. The actual name used should be on the repctl commandline and in the startup scripts. Did you try ps -ef | grep repctl ?

Perhaps you started your find too low in the data folder itself?

Anyway, you may want to find mk.dat (file), databases (directory), imports (directory) or GlobalRepo.sqlite (file) as entities which will be in the data folder.

Check the file dates to make sure you are not looking at some stale copy.

Hein.
