Selection in a pivot table

I have a pivot table and a straight table who shows the details of the pivot table.

But I don't understand something.

At the beginning when I select a cell in the pivot table, the straight table show me the detail of the cell but then when I select a second cell, the straight table show me a lot of data, not only the details of the selected cell. Why?

And must I do, that Qlik shows me only the detail of the selected cell? Must i do a reset after every selection?

Hi @Frédéricdh , when you do a clickon a filter, and then you select another value from the same filter, the new selections is addes to the first click selection, so you have to always unckeck the old value and then check de new selection value

Hello Fabian,

I use QLikview at the moment.

My püivot table has two Dimension: the Week and the place.

And it's very bizarre, when I click for the second time, the straight table adds a lot of new value and not only the week i select.

I don't understand

both tables Pivot and Straight in QlikView with Dropdown selectors.

With that you can make selections easily

sorry I don't like the solution with dropdown selectors.

Really, I don't understand wht Qlik do.

My Pivot table has 2 Dimension, the Place and The week. I clik on a cell withe the PLACE x and the WEEK y, than the straight table shows me the details of the cell with the right PLACE x and WEEK y.

And than i Clik on an other PLACE x1 and WEEK y1 but than the straight table shows me everything not only an add. I don't understand what QLik does.

I try to clear the selection but it's not so easy with variables.

I really don#t understand, what QLik does...

When you select a cell in the pivot table, Qlik implicitly selects all dimensions that define the cell. As soon as you select a different cell, you also add the dimensions for that field to the selection. Due to how qlik works, you now also see all combinations of the two sets of dimensions, resulting in potentially more selected fields. Thats difficult to navigate around and a solution is heavily dependent on your usecase. I had this problem in a grid map and fixed it by assigning a unique key to every dimension combination and that disabled all unwanted cross-contaminations in my grid map

I try to understand and see, with text Object, How Qlik works in this case. It's strange.

When you click a pivot table cell, the first time, Qlik select the two dimensions, who define the cells.

And then if you click another cell, than Qlik reset the dimension and it's only if you click a second time on the cell that Qlik select only the two dimensions who define the cell. But it doesn't work all the time this way.

Some time Qlik reset only one dimension and set only the other.

i don't like it, i want to use variables in order to fit my own way to process. But it seems harder than expected

Does it exist options to orient How Qlik make the DImension filtering. And where are they?
