Lost Qliksense server

Hi Friends,

We have recently lost our remote server where we had Qliksense Enterprise installed. Server is not Turning ON due to Hardware/Disk failure. Server was not a VM and we dont have uptodate backups for our Qliksense apps/data/repository.

We are looking for recovery options but not sure whether we will be able to recover everything.

If we are able to recover, What should be our next steps to get our Qliksense working again on a new VM?

Can someone please share step by step process to restore Qliksense in a new machine.

I feel with you. I'm sorry and I really hope that you will be able to recover what is needed in order to restore.

When restoring a QS environment I would focus on recovering this from the corrupt server:

The QlikShare (most important the Apps folder containing all the applications)
The QVD storage (it is of course depending on what you've stored in QVD files, but regenerating historical QVD can be cumbersome and in many cases not possible to do)
The Qlik Sense repository database. (Holds info about your apps, sheets, triggers, task, and most of what you would use the QMC to look at or configure)
Certificates (needed for a smooth recovery)

To get a better understanding of what is needed I suggest you to look at the backup and restore sction in the Qlik help pages. Even if you didn't do the the backup, you could find help about what is needed to restore.

Good luck restoring what you can, I really hope you are able to get hold of the most important stuff.

...oh I forgot to mention. If you're aiming for an manual restore then it is also important that you have/get access to the install files for the same version as you had on the crashed server. It may save you from a lot of headaches using the exact same version during recovery.

Hi Vegar,

Thank you so much for your kind words and information.

So i can understand that the folder locations in the path C:\ProgramData\Qlik\Sense\. is required while recovering.

For the shared folder that has the app details, static content, etc... where it will be.

Is it from other drive? Example D or E:\SenseShare\... is this the one?

Can you please guide on this?
