Hi,

I don't think you can change the opacity of a background image in the Qlik Sense editing environment, but you can use external image editing software to apply transparency to an image and then save in a format that supports transparency (for preference .png - .jpg does not).

If you then import the saved .png to your dashboard and use it as a background image for a table, and add the straight table to a layout container, you can place further items in the layout container and then move them to the back, where they will show through the semi-transparent image.

Above is a Straight Table with a .png background image, externally edited to around 50% transparency. The green Text item is behind it (below it in the Content list of the Layout Container). You can see the green 'through' the background of the table.

It won't work for a sheet, though, because by definition a background image is at the back. And it won't work outside a layout container, as you can't overlap visualisation elements anywhere else.

Hi everyone,

Is there any way to change opacity of background image for sheet or chart in Qlik Sense? I have a photo, which I'd like to submit to my app and make it transparent enough for other objects to be visuable etc.

Do you have any ideas?
