Tip - QS Desktop will freeze

Hi All

A few times now my QlikSense desktop just freezes ...

1: Running QS 1.1 on Win 8.1

2: Mostly occurs when I move objects around on the sheet to position relative to other objects

3: QS will freeze completely i.e. No response to Keyboard or Mouse actions

4: The only exit is to abort QS

If you abort and you have been busy and not save your work for a while then obviously you will be a little

cross.... Qs will still accept a Ctrl-S which will save your work, then you can abort and not be cross

Just a tip if this has happened to you.

What kind of hardware are you running on?

Most important aspect is if you have a laptop with a touch screen or not?

This happens with me too. I'm having windows 7 professional with 8 gig RAM with Qlik Sense Desktop Versoin 2.1.1 +Build:22. While moving objects in the sheet, it simply hangs. Snap of the same is as below.

The only option I'm left during such scenarios, is to restart or refresh. Frustrating !

Were not able to reproduce it here unfortunately, there it's very hard to give a good answer.

We had some problems with the new Windows Hybrid devices which combines both Mouse and Touch screen but they have been sorted out and works seems to be working for everyone now.

Do you know if this happens with all objects on the sheet or is it for example always when moving a Bar chart that the problem happens?

Same problem, same configuration as ishan Bhatt. I think to me it happens moving filter pannel but couldn't reproduce again.

Thanks for the input, will do some testing with the Filter pannel and see if I can reproduce it.

It's happening on my web environment also:

I've noticed it's happening when I am trying to move a control "over" some other control on the page...

It usually works fine if there are no "obstacles" on the way....

It seems quite random , however I notice it is predominant when quickly moving objects in succession, I wonder if because the server performs auto save on the sheet and if there is a network or server lag then the successive move of an object just causes a serve lock (e.g Resource) or some other behaviour than manifests to the developer as a screen lock.

Not sure if Qlik can reproduce or debug.
