An error occurred - invalid path opening Excel data files

I created a Folder connection in Qlik Sense - inside that folder there is a mixture of QVD, Excel (xls and xlsx) and flat files (csv).

I click on "Select Data" on that connector no issues whatsoever when I select any of the CSV or QVD files - when I open any of the Excel files (existing and newly created on this (my new laptop)), I get the error:

An error occurred - invalid path.

I created the simplest of Excel files and still getting these issues - these issues are occurring on my new laptop where I have transferred all my Qlik Sense and QlikView projects - everything else works fine. This is driving me insane - any ideas would be welcome!

I'm experiencing the same issue. I receive this error in one app, but not another. No idea why - very frustrating.

Did you ever find out the fix?
