When you add a variable reference ($(&lt;variable&gt;)) then no errors are being thrown at all. The editor doesn't even distinguish curly braces from square brackets. Even a Notepad++ is a better editor than the one built-on.</P><P></P><P>I think it would greatly reduce development time if developers had a decent editor&gt;&gt;reduce project costs&gt;&gt;increase number of Qlik projects&gt;&gt;increase Qlik license revenue. It would benefit the company at the end-of-the-day even though it's not a frontend feature.</P><P></P><P>The script editor is worth another forum entry in itself. Scripts can be run even if they have syntax errors in them?
